Division I, II or III
Why are we separated into divisions?
The divisional structure provides member schools and conferences with the opportunity to compete against other member schools and conferences that share their athletics philosophy.
Who decides who's in which division?
It's voluntary. Each school can decide their division based on their own enrollment, financial and fan support estimates.
What does this mean to you?
We see college athletics as a tool you can use to become a better player in life. To make sure that college sports at every level of competition is true to the student in every student-athlete, we have, along with the divisions themselves, incorporated guidelines for participation in each division with an eye to academic growth and fairness in competition.
